If there's one thing that best describes Nintendo, it's probably 'unpredictable'. The company has routinely surprised us with ambitious projects that sometimes make us question its sanity, but never fail to try something new.

So when it announced this morning that it's building a new line of DIY experiences that utilize the Switch with cardboard cutouts, we can't exactly say we were surprised.

The product is being called Nintendo Labo, and there's really nothing quite like it on the market. Basically, it uses your Switch and Joy-Cons along with a handful of construction materials to simulate experiences, from playing a piano to wasting your time.

You could probably achieve the same with a few Big Mac boxes from McDonald's, but then you'd be missing the software that turns this from ridiculous to kind of neat. I mean, just check out the reveal video for yourself:

I'm willing to bet these will sell like crazy. Most kids love building things, and at this point Minecraft is looking older than Warren Buffet. Once kids find out they can use their Switch to make a robot backpack, parents everywhere are going to feel the pressure to buy one of these.
